I had a long day at work today and when I got home I took a few shots of the dress and wings Evangeline Miles created around my jewelry for the Etheria event that launches this Sunday. Below is my favorite picture:

I remember when I was approached about this event and how excited I was about the designs I sketched. WOW, what a process it was taking the jewelry from paper sketches to prims! It took me several drafts in order to come up with the final piece but its all finished and ready for the opening on Sunday. I squeed every time I saw the bits of Evie’s dress coming together and when the wings were added on I was in heaven.

In all of my years in the jewelry industry both in RL and in SL I never got the opportunity to be in this position. As a woman, you usually go shopping for your dress, then get your shoes, then accessorize from there. Most of the time the jewelry is the final touch to an outfit and there are a lot of times that I see jewelry forgotten. I believe necks, ears, fingers, and arms should never be left undecorated. One day I would love to see every woman in the world try to add at last one piece of jewelry they would not normally wear. In my RL job I am on the phone a lot so I don’t wear earrings; because of this I am sure to wear at least a necklace and/or bracelet everyday. If you’re going to invest the money in such beautiful accessories for your wardrobe why leave them in your jewelry box? I give you this one challenge: go to your RL and SL jewelry inventories and pick one piece per week that you have not worn in at least a year, then try to work it into an outfit that week. I bet there are at least a few pieces in your jewelry boxes that are screaming to be displayed to the world.

Etheria opens this Sunday, June 13th 2010. The Fashion show is at 3:00 p.m. and at 4:00 p.m. we invite you to visit Etheria in the clouds.
